Background/Purpose
Procedure
Two tape markers are placed 36 inches apart on the floor. The patient assumes a push-up position with one hand on each piece of tape and the hands under/inline with the shoulders. The body should be kept as straight/neutral as possible throughout the test. The examiner instructs the subject to "Go". The subject begins by lifting one hand and reaching to touch the other hand and then returns the hand back to the starting position. The subject then repeats this maneuver with the opposite hand. This continues for a total of 15 seconds.
The first trial is at sub-maximal effort. The test is then completed three additional times for 15 seconds each with maximal effort. The average of the three scores is then recorded.
Normalized values are based on height.
Performed: Unilaterally
