Video Link

Background/Purpose

MDT uses repeated motions to assess tissues. If repeated motions centralize the pain it is beneficial and a good prognosis for recovery. It is usually an indication of a disc derangement.

Procedure

Subject lays prone on the floor or examination table and performs repeated prone press ups. The clinician is looking for a centralization of symptoms. This means symptoms are reduced or do not go as far into the extremity.
joints are repetitively loaded at end range or held sustained at end range for a period of time in a variety of positions. Any changes in the quality, distribution and persistence of the patient’s pain or improvement in global movement are carefully monitored.
Performed: Bilaterally
