Test: FORAMINAL COMPRESSION TEST
Video Link
Background/Purpose
Procedure
The seated patient actively rotates the head from side to side. Localization of any discomfort is noted. With the patient seated and the head and neck returned to a neutral position, the examiner exerts progressively increasing downward pressure (compression) on the head and neck. Symptoms may lateralize and localize at this point. The head is rotated toward the side of complaint and similar compression is applied. Reproduction of the complaint is a positive finding and indicates foraminal encroachment. The maneuver is repeated for the opposite side.
Performed: Bilaterally
