Video Link
Background/Purpose
Procedure
This test will assess pain or dysfunction of a non-wight bearing, neutral/extended hip. Patient lies prone on the table with the knee flexed to 90 degrees (or as close as possible) on the testing leg. The examiner stabilizes the pelvis or thigh and moves the patient's leg into external rotation. A measurement is taken with a goniometer at the farthest point reached. Ensure there is no pelvic motion (flexion or elevation) to insure an accurate measurement.
Performed: Unilaterally
