Background/Purpose

Procedure

Assess the vestibular, somatosensory, and visual inputs for regulation of balance control. Patient stands on a foam pad and tilts head side to side, front to back and rotation. Each motion performed for 5 repetitions. Perform first with eyes open and then closed. A failed test could indicate vestibular dysfunction and warrants referral for accurate diagnosis.
